We are heading to the Perry Housing Authority for a Summer VBS for all ages!

WROC is excited to launch a vibrant and fun-filled Summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) program at the Perry Housing Authority for children of all ages!   We will meet every other weekend on Sunday after from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  on the playground.  This lively program will bring kids together for an unforgettable summer of learning about Jesus through exciting activities, inspiring lessons, and a loving, supportive community—helping them grow in faith while having fun!  

 

Our program will be Camp Firelight!  We need many volunteers to make this possible.  We will have skits, music, crafts, and science.  We will even have dinner to take home each session (We are busting out the grills!).   Each session we want to send each child home with a packet of activities from the lesson that week as well as items collected to help each family.

We need

  • Portable sound system for music

  • Reusable water coolers with cups or water bottles for each event 

  • Portable 6 ft tables 

  • Sun Tent/covers  

  • Sunscreen 

  • Tiki Torches with liquid 

  • 2 bags fill dirt

  • Large grill and volunteers to grill food

Craft Supplies needed

  • 4 packs of white cardstock
  • 1 large pack construction paper
  • large pack of large popsicle sticks (will be written on)
  • 1 pack of orange tissue paper
  • 1 pack of yellow tissue paper
  • 5 containers elmers glue\
  • 10-20 Kids scissors
  • 1 large container yellow acrylic paint
  • 1 large container orange acrylic paint
  • 3 containers of cheap tin foil
  • 3 tubes e600 glue 
  • 30 – 50 stick pieces (food wood for fire painting)
  • 50 white bandanas 
  • Large set of crayons
  • Large sets of markers
  • 25 frisbees or flying discs
  • 25 spray bottles  

Recreation Supplies needed are

  • 4 – 5 Ladder ball units
  • 20-30 bean bags
  •  hula hoops
  • 10 pairs cheap flip flops
  • 3 large jugs of bubbles with assorted blow stick sizes
  • 25 frisbees or flying disc
  • 25 disposable cups
  • 5-10 jugs of water
  • 10 beach towels or vinyl table clothes

We plan to have food for kids to take home after VBS and allow anyone that wants to come up to get dinner as well.  The plan is to rotate after hotdogs or hamburgers on the grill.  There are 150 residents at the Housing Authority.
